While 3D CAD modeling and 2D Digital Visioning have become basic tools in architecture and urban design, 3D Photography and 3D Visioning can be added bonuses.
Above is a 3D rendering of an urban design concept that I rendered for TOWNVISION.org . Try to see the image in 3D by blurring the images together into one 3D image. The red and blue cubes will combine into one purple cube, and the logos will stand out from the screen.
Having now worked with the Town Vision Network photographing literally Thousands of downtown scenes in Hundreds of towns, many of the images have been developed into 3D stereographs. Below are only a few examples. |

The art of creating very wide Panoramic images, even 360 degree images, is another technology that has been around for many years, but only now is becoming popular. Micro Soft has even developed a stitching feature that can combine the images. Google has taken the concept in another direction by using radius cameras that take thousands of images in every shot and stitches them into an image that can be panned globally. See Google Map’s Street View for more information.
But few of the noted methods provide a technique that allow printing of the full image. As I have toured hundreds of towns for TOWNVISION . com, I have revived a primitive technique that allows 360 degree images to be printed. A thumbnail image of a panoramic photo that I developed for Clifton Forge Virginia is shown above.
